The kit you have received includes:

  • 1 Gateway 4G Milesight UG56 LoRaWAN 868

  • 2 Gateway Antennas [1 LoRaWAN, 1 Communication 4G]

  • 1 Sensor LoRaWAN 868

  • 1 Power Adapter

  • 1 USB-C Cable

Please note that the sensor may vary depending on the requested kit.

Connecting the Gateway

  • Attach the two antennas to their bases. They are identical, so you can screw either antenna onto either base interchangeably

  • Connect the antennas to the LoRa and LTE connectors on the Gateway. They are interchangeable, meaning you can connect the antennas to either connector

  • Connect the power adapter and its USB cable to the Gateway’s USB-C port

  • Plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet.

  • Wait for approximately 40 seconds while the Gateway boots up. Once the startup process is complete:

    • The SYSTEM LED will turn solid green.

    • Shortly after, the LoRa LED will also turn solid green.

At this point, the Gateway establishes a connection with the sensor included in the kit and a 4G (mobile network) connection to transmit the sensor's data to the Neuron platform.

Congratulations! Your Neuron IoT Box Kit is Up and Running.

Important Considerations

  • Ensure 4G network availability in your area.

  • Maintain direct visibility between the sensor’s antenna (usually built into the sensor) and the Gateway’s LoRa antenna.

  • LoRa technology has a range of 10-15 km in open field conditions.

  • LoRa can also function in urban environments with buildings, trees, and other obstacles, though these may affect range or even block communication.
