IO-Link is one of the standard protocols in communication between industrial devices, but it's not the only one. Despite the fact that a lot of installations use this protocol, many still are undergoing the transformation process. This is why in order to make Neuron compatible with such devices, we need something that's capable of translating data for IO-Link.
Here's where retrofitting comes in. It's the system created to translate that data for IO-Link through devices such as an IO-Link Data Splitter.
It's quite straightforward to implement: all you have to do is install an IO-Link Data Splitter in your communication system between a device and the IO-Link Master. This way, the IO-Link Data Splitter is capable of translating the data, sending them to the IO-Link Master, and communicating with Neuron Edge.
So, thanks to retrofitting, Neuron is compatible with the majority of installations around, making it possible to keep them up-to-date and profit from the initial investment.
