Docker is open-source software that allows you to create containers that include anything you might need for an application to work. Thanks to Docker, we can make sure that Neuron Edge and Neuron App work correctly in any installation.

Basically what it does is automate application use in small software containers. This way, Neuron Edge stores all the data collected from devices on Docker before uploading them to AWS. By doing so, the industrial CPU where Neuron Edge is executed only has to store the latest data collected from devices, which frees up some space and makes the cloud upload process much faster and safer.

Docker is free, with download versions for Microsoft, MacOs, and Linux, which means that no matter your operating system, we can generate a compatible version of Neuron Edge for it. We recommend version 4.15.0.

Docker Desktop 4.15.0

If you're having trouble installing Docker on your industrial CPU, get in touch with our technical support service at neuron@plexo.cloud.
