The option to unregister a gateway license allows you to reinstall the gateway software without losing its configuration. It’s useful for troubleshooting CPU failures or moving to other locations.

On a technical level, the procedure preserves the software infrastructure of the gateway and creates a new registration code to retrieve the data of the new gateway on the cloud, activate it and connect the physical components, Neuron Edge, the Docker image and the new gateway on Neuron App.

The procedure goes like this:

  1. In Neuron App’s main menu, go to the "Equipment" section and access the gateway’s card.

  2. In this same menu, you'll have an option to "Uninstall". When you click on it, the gateway’s status on Neuron App changes to "Unregistered".

  3. After repairing the industrial CPU or transferring the devices to their new location, you must download the gateway software and reinstall it by entering the new registration code when required.

  4. After the installation is complete, Neuron App will go on to search for devices to pair with.

  5. Finally, the images of the recognized devices will appear in Neuron App’s "Equipment" section.

During this process, for the time interval in which the gateway’s status appears as "Unregistered", the data readings associated with the gateway shown in Assets (in the "Resources" section) are interrupted.

When accessing the data in minutes, we can see how the reading is interrupted:

When the gateway is reset, after searching for and pairing the devices, Neuron continues reading data within that same asset:
