Gateways

The difference between deleting a gateway and unregistering its license is that by deleting the gateway we are eliminating the gateway software and its registration code, meaning that we completely remove the gateway infrastructure. In doing so, we’ll see how the gateway image disappears from the section "Equipment” on Neuron App.

In contrast, by unregistering the gateway license we are disconnecting the gateway, but saving all its settings to reconnect it later. This option preserves the gateway’s software infrastructure, allows us to re-download it and fill in the registration code to re-connect the devices, Neuron Edge, Docker and Neuron App.

It’s very useful for when industrial CPUs have been compromised or when transferring devices to new locations.
