MQTT gateways require devices to be added manually. In order to completely read the data, two different device types must be added:
⚠️ Physical connections must have previously been made.
Adding modules
Modules collect all the information from the sensors and are the first ones that we must add to the MQTT gateway.
To add them, follow this step by step process:
Go to the "Equipment" section in Neuron App’s main menu.
2. Select the MQTT gateway where you want to add the new module. This gateway must have been previously created.
3. Click on the "Add" button in the upper part of Neuron App’s main section.
4. This opens a window with the information that is required to add the new module. Complete it by entering the following:
Module name
Description to help you identify it
Serial number of the device
Device model ID
Labels to help you identify it
When you finish filling in the data, click "Save".
5. After saving, the new module will appear in the main window of the gateway where you created it.
Adding sensors
Once the MQTT gateway modules have been created in Neuron, you can now add the sensors.
To do so, follow this step by step process:
Enter the MQTT gateway module where you are adding the new sensor.
2. A message will pop up if you haven't previously created a sensor. At the top, you can find a button to "Add" a new sensor to this module.
3. A window will open so you can add the sensor. Complete with the required data:
Name of the sensor
Description to help you identify it
Sensor serial number (supplied by the manufacturer)
Data type: define the type of data the sensor will collect
Order: a number that helps you identify it within the installation
Tags: You can add tags to make it easier to recognize the sensor.
Once you're done, click on "Save".
4. The sensor will then appear in the overview of the MQTT gateway where you created it.
