Deleting a device from Neuron removes the digital representation of a physical device.
There are two types of devices that we can delete within an MQTT gateway:
⚠️ Deleting a device from an MQTT gateway does not change the number
of devices that are in your subscription.
Deleting MQTT gateway modules
In order to delete a module from an MQTT gateway, follow this step-by-step process:
Go to the "Equipment" section in Neuron App’s main menu.
2. Select the MQTT gateway where you want to delete the module.
3. Click on the module widget menu and press "Delete".
4. A message will appear in Neuron describing the consequences of deleting a device. These are the messages that could appear for modules:
Deleting a module does not delete the sensors or assets it manages.
Deleting a module does not change your subscription.
Deleting a module only removes the digital representation of the physical device.
5. After pressing "Delete" the module will disappear from the gateway overview.
Deleting MQTT gateway sensors
In order to delete a sensor from an MQTT gateway, follow this step-by-step process:
Go to the "Equipment" section in Neuron App’s main menu.
2. Select the MQTT gateway where you want to delete the sensor.
3. Click on the sensor widget menu and press "Delete".
4. A message will appear in Neuron describing the consequences of deleting a device.
These are the messages that could appear for sensors:
Deleting a sensor does not delete the data of the assets it has collected so far, so you will still be able to access its history.
Deleting a sensor only removes the digital representation of the physical device. To delete the connections, you will have to manually disconnect the sensor.
Deleting a sensor does not change your subscription or the data it collects. To pause data collection, you have to change its frequency to "None".
