In the Asset tabs in the "Resources" section Neuron App’s main menu, you can find asset names.
These names, represented by a combination of numbers and letters, cannot be modified because they are default values defined by the manufacturer to help us identify each IoT device.
The first section of the number that forms its name, in this case, 837, corresponds to the manufacturer's number. In this example, that number determines that the manufacturer is AUTOSEN.
The second part of the number, which is between underscores, in this case, _AT001_, corresponds to the device model. This tells us that the device is a temperature sensor.
Finally, the last part of the number, in this case, 00085359204, corresponds to that particular device’s serial number.
So, by joining the manufacturer number, device model number, and serial number we’ll be able to do the following:
Identify each device in the installation.
Connect each physical device to their digital twin on the Neuron App, that is, with its asset.
Thanks to this number, when creating a gateway, Neuron obtains an identification number for the sensor which will allow us to generate the model and the corresponding asset automatically.
