Roles

User roles are what define the hierarchy among users on Neuron in order to determine which actions can be carried out by each user.

Thanks to these roles, it's possible to assign permissions to each user so that they can only access and manage certain Neuron features that correspond with their position.

The different types of permissions you can assign are related to Neuron's main working areas:

  • Sensor permissions: Neuron allows you to decide if users can add, activate or deactivate sensors, control actuators or modify data upload frequency for a specific sensor.

  • User and role permissions: these allow users to create new users or eliminate them, assign or modify roles...

  • Data permissions: these ones determine who has access to the sensors' data updates, the history, and the Neuron App dashboard.

  • Gateway permissions: these permissions are given to link sensors, manage connections between devices and on the cloud, and manage software modules that make these connections between physical devices such as IO-Link Masters possible.

  • Export permissions: these allow users to export data from the installation to other management programs such as SAP, Salesforce, or Microsoft Dynamics 365.

Thus, each role can be assigned different permissions based on their area of work; and each user can be assigned different roles.
